PKP Energetyka S.A. (a member company of the PKP Energetyka Capital Group) is one of the largest power companies in Poland. We connect railways with the country's energy system. We take care of the reliability and quality of energy and fuel supplies for rail transportation. As an infrastructure company, we own a distribution network and 19 fuel stations throughout the country. We supply energy to individual equipment and ultimately to trains. We also provide electric power services. Our entire infrastructure is supervised by more than 4,000 of our employees organised in 5 distribution and service areas and 5 service plants throughout the country."

Initiator of innovation and renewable energy sources for railways

For several years, we have been consistently implementing modern technological solutions to improve the quality, safety and efficiency of our operations. The digitalisation that has been carried out allows us, together with the entire industry, to implement the strategic Green Railway® programme, which aims to change the energy mix of the sector to 85% clean energy from RES. We are actively involved in the Center for Energy Efficiency of Railways (CEEK).

Company ownership

As of 13.01.2016, the sole shareholder of PKP Energetyka S.A. is PKPE Holding Sp. z o.o., owned by CVC Capital Partners, one of the largest investment funds in the world.

It manages funds entrusted by respected financial institutions, state and pension funds e.g. the U.S. Railroad Retirement System, the New York State Teachers' Retirement Program and the Canadian Retirement Program. In nearly 35 years, our fund has made more than 300 investments worth nearly $60 billion in Europe, the US and Asia.

Today, CVC Capital Partners is a shareholder in nearly 60 companies that together employ more than 400,000 people. Many of the investments it has made are of particular importance to infrastructure, such as Spain's power and gas distribution network operator Inalta and France's rail infrastructure provider Delachaux.

PKP Energetyka S.A. is incorporated in accordance with the decision of the District Court for the Capital City of Warsaw, XII Commercial Department, dated 02.02.2010, and has been entered in the National Court Register under the number KRS 0000322634.
